1. Information we collect
We collect your email address when you create an account. We also collect the preferences you provide such as diet type, household size, weekly budget, zip code, and preferred store. We also store the meal plans we generate for you. We do not collect payment information directly — this is handled securely by Stripe.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to generate personalized meal plans, improve our AI recommendations over time, and send you optional weekly meal planning reminders. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Supabase Auth for secure user authentication. Your password is never stored in plain text.
4. Third party services
MealZo uses the following third party services: Supabase for database and authentication, Groq for AI meal generation where your preferences are sent to generate meal plans, Vercel for web hosting, and Stripe for payment processing when applicable. Each of these services has their own privacy policy.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any third party tracking on our platform.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, go to your account settings and click Delete account. You can also email us at hello@mealzo.app to request data deletion.
7. Children's privacy
MealZo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email. Your continued use of MealZo after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
